Discipleship University is a weekend designed for youth to strengthen their faith and build relationships with others of like-minded faith.

This weekend includes a keynote speaker who will bring challenging lessons throughout the weekend. On Saturday, there will be 6 breakout sessions where students will have the opportunity to attend classes. Lunch on Saturday will be provided for everyone. Come and grow as a disciple of Christ!

Discipleship

Like other rabbis of his day, Jesus had disciples called talmidim, devout followers who were probably in their mid-teens. The disciples' deepest desire was to follow their rabbi so closely that they would start to think and act like him. A talmid followed his rabbi everywhere, often without knowing or asking where he was going. He rarely left his rabbi's side for fear that he would miss a teachable moment. Talmidim trusted their rabbi completely. They worked passionately to incorporate the rabbi's actions and words into their lives. Jesus' twelve disciples ultimately succeeded in becoming like their rabbi. Their missionary efforts changed the world, and most of them gave their lives in the process.

University

At a university, students begin as freshmen and spend years growing in knowledge and maturity before graduating. They are then equipped to enter the workforce and be a positive influence on society. This weekend has a similar goal. You are entering DU as a freshman in the faith and are working through these classes to equip yourself with the knowledge God desires for you to graduate to the next level and be a positive influence for good in the world.
