Robert Birdow was raised in Palestine, TX, where he was baptized at the age of twelve at Salt Works Road Church of Christ. He met his lovely wife Hazel at her aunt's house, and they were married in 1973. After spending 3 years in the military, Robert began working at O-I Glass Company in Plano, where he worked for 30 years until retirement moved him to Midlothian. He and Hazel, a retired school teacher, have four children: Gloria, Robert Jr., David and Brian, along with eight grandchildren.

His favorite part about the Brown Street family is how peaceful and loving he finds its members.
