Hate is a terrible thing! I'm writing this just following the shooting in that ballpark just outside Washington D.C. The devil must rejoice when he persuades someone to pick up a rifle and attempt to pick off members of congress. These must be those "perilous times" Paul mentioned in II Timothy 3:1-4. Hatred is a work of the flesh Paul wrote about in Galatians 5:19-21. It was hatred that caused Cain to kill his brother, Abel. What a different world this would be if everyone had more love and less hate. What can Christians do to help turn this situation around? We can endeavor to have within us the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5) and do our best to walk in the footsteps of Jesus. (I Peter 1:21). But, one might say, "I'm only me; what can one person do?" Remember, a better world begins with me. If we all let our light shine as we should, it will make a huge difference. May the beauty of Jesus be seen in our lives. May God bless us - our homes, the church and our nation!
